Présentée en 2008, cette étude du retable de l'église Sts Pierre et Paul d'Illhaeusern a surpris les commanditaires. Proposer une crucifixion en coupant les bras du Christ était pour le moins inédit, mais la structure très verticale de l’œuvre faisait écho aux baies de vitraux de cette église moderne.

L’œuvre a été acquise par la mairie de Graufthal en 2014. Il est visible dans le temple en face des célèbres maisons troglodytes, curiosité touristique du village.

This study of the altarpiece of the church of Saint Peter and Paul of Illhaeusern was presented in 2008 andastonished the sponsors. It was unprecedented to propose a crucifixion with the arms of the Christ cut. However, the vertical structures of the artwork echoes to the stained glasses of this modern church. 

The artwork was acquired by the city hall of Graufthal in 2014. It is visible in the temple in front of the famous troglodyte houses, a touristic attraction in the village.
