La figure de David est ambiguë. Il incarne un roi brillant mais sa carrière est entachée par des faits d'arme critiquables. Tel un sniper, il abat à distance Goliath, ce qui lui vaut les faveurs du roi Saül. Il intrigue vraisemblablement contre ce dernier et, fin stratège, finit par triompher. Roi, il fait abattre l'un de ses hommes pour prendre sa femme. L'histoire a consigné la carrière d'un grand politicien, mais entre les lignes, je lis celle d'un lâche.

David’s image is very ambiguous. He incarnates a brilliant king but his career is tarnished by questionnable arm doings. As a sniper, he knocks down Goliath from a distance, which will get him King Saul’s favors. As a fine strategist, he schemes against the king and triumphs. Him being the king, he kills one of his men in order to take his wife. History wrote the career of a great politician but I only see the career of a coward.
